The City of Belle Plaine is committed to helping homeowners improve the safety, health, and livability of their homes through the Owner-Occupied Home Rehabilitation Program. This program offers financial assistance for home repairs to eligible property owners, covering up to one-third of the cost of necessary improvements.
The program is designed to address health and safety hazards in homes by funding repairs such as roof replacements, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC systems, and other essential updates. Priority is given to households living in imminently unsafe conditions, and assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Eligible applicants must own and occupy a home within the city limits of Belle Plaine and meet certain program requirements. The City will cover up to $2,000 annually for approved repairs, with homeowners responsible for the remaining two-thirds of the cost. To apply, homeowners must complete an application, provide proof of ownership, and participate in an inspection process to assess the home’s needs.
For more information about eligibility, the application process, and how to apply for funding, please refer to the Housing Grants webpage or contact the City of Belle Plaine.
