Greg Johnson

President

Greg Johnson profile imageGreg is a native of Belle Plaine where he graduated high school in 1999 and attended Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, IA. In 2006 he joined his parents Dale and Jo Johnson in opening the Johnson Insurance office here in Belle Plaine. Greg lives in Belle Plaine and stays active with his wife, Marsha, daughter Taylor, and son Jackson.

Since moving back to Belle Plaine in 2011 he has been an active member of the Belle Plaine Lions Club, Belle Plaine Community Development Board & Committees, Belle Plaine Library Board, and Belle Plaine Foundation Board. He has served as president of NAIFA-Cedar Rapids as well as president of the NAIFA-Iowa state board. He has also been recognized as a “Four Under Forty” award winner out of all NAIFA members in the state of Iowa.

Greg volunteers his time because he feels it is necessary to give back to the community that gives so much back to him. He enjoys taking pride in his community and making it the best place it can possibly be.

Nick Gallagher

Vice-President

Nick Gallagher profile imageNick was raised in the great town of Belle Plaine and after graduating from Belle Plaine High in 2001, he attended Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. After receiving a business degree from Cornell College in 2005, he moved to St. Louis, MO to begin a job in sales. In 2007, Nick moved back to Iowa to work in sales at Manatt’s Inc. in Brooklyn, IA. Nick is currently the Area Market Manager for Manatt’s Inc.

Nick was married to his wife, Tylar, in 2012 and they have 2 kids, a daughter, Quinlee, and a son, Vince. After spending time away from Belle Plaine and living the city life, Nick has a greater appreciation for his hometown and how special of a place Belle Plaine, Iowa is. He has served on the Business Improvement Committee for Belle Plaine Community Development since 2012 and the Board of Directors since 2017.

Casey Neuhaus

Secretary

Nick Gallagher profile imageCasey is a mother of 3 children and a registered foster parent. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a BS degree in Radiation Sciences and worked for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for 10 years as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.

In 2015, Casey and her husband Andy purchased the Hrabak Funeral Home and together they operate Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service. She graduated from DMACC Mortuary Science program in 2017.

Casey has been active in Belle Plaine since moving here serving on the Belle Plaine Rotary and the Belle Plaine Community Development. As a small business owner, she believes it is important to be active in the community. If we support each other as community and business, we will grow and succeed together.

Mindy Atkinson

Treasurer

Nick Gallagher profile imageMindy was born in Sterling, IL, and attended Sauk Valley Community College. After working in Illinois for a few years she moved to Belle Plaine and began working for MidwestOne bank as the Retail Managing Officer. She currently lives in Belle Plaine with her husband John, two step sons Christian and Tyler and son Carter.

Mindy has been active the Belle Plaine Community Development Board and Committees since 2017 and has served in many roles since getting involved. She currently serves as the Board Treasurer and helps lead the Promotions Committee.

 

Kate Robertson

Director

Nick Gallagher profile imageKate grew up in Belle Plaine and graduated from BPHS in 1999. She attended Upper Iowa University where she graduated with a degree in Elementary education. She worked for several years for Luxco Distributing in sales and marketing, creating events and promotions. She is married to Ian Robertson. They have two children, Lily and Gus.

Recently she became the Executive Director for the Benton Development Group and spends much of her time traveling the Benton County area helping with economic development activities.

Kate has been active with the Belle Plaine Community Development since 2017 serving as a Board and Committee member and has served in many roles including heading the Home for the Holidays Event Committee in 2018.

Steve Beck

Director

Steve has served as the Belle Plaine City Administrator since 2019.
