2025 July Celebrations

July 15, 2025 By BPCDC Director

Belle Plaine July Celebration 2025 Recap
Presented by the Belle Plaine Community Development Corporation & Belle Plaine Lions Club

Belle Plaine came alive with celebration, fun, and community spirit over the two-day July Celebration event hosted by the Belle Plaine Community Development Corporation (BPCDC) and the Belle Plaine Lions Club. Thanks to the incredible support of our volunteers, sponsors, and the community, this year’s festivities were a huge success!

July 3rd – Classic Cars, Music, and More at Franklin Park

The celebration kicked off Wednesday afternoon with the annual Car Show at Franklin Park, where classic cars and bikes lined the park for a fun evening of friendly competition, food, and festivities. Registration opened at 3:00 PM, and visitors enjoyed door prizes and car show awards announced later that evening.

Highlights from the Car Show included:

  • Best of Show: Chad Sherwood’s 1965 Pontiac GTO

  • Best Bike: Chad Lundquist with his 2000 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail Classic

  • Top 10–50 awards, plus trophies for Best Paint and Best Engine

  • A 50/50 raffle with a $252 prize awarded to ticket #220131

Meanwhile, the Lions Club’s Chicken Chip Bingo offered a lighthearted game of chance with cash prizes, and BPCDC’s Bags Tournament, hosted by Brian Baumgartner and Mitch Jacobi, brought some friendly competition with a $250 grand prize.

Families and kids enjoyed a petting zoo from Cheshire Moon Farms featuring baby animals, a mini horse, goats, and a donkey. Grace Community Church added to the fun with a 9 Square game for kids.

The evening wrapped up with the Main Street Dance featuring Rough Sketch performing live from 8 PM to midnight. Organized by Fire Box on Main and supported by community donations and volunteers, the dance brought neighbors together for music, dancing, and summer fun.

Local food favorites kept the crowd well-fed with offerings from Fire Box on Main, El Catrin’s, and the Lions Club beer tent.

July 4th – A Full Day of Community Celebration

Independence Day began with energy and excitement as the Belle Plaine Athletic Boosters hosted the Booster Bolt 5K Run/Walk at 8:00 AM. Then at 10:00 AM, the annual 4th of July Parade marched through town from 13th Street to Williams Park. This year’s Parade Marshal was Maddox Purk, a proud member of the Leo Club and recent Belle Plaine High School graduate.

Franklin Park transformed once again into the hub of activity for the day, featuring:

  • Midway games and rides by the Lions Club

  • A bustling vendor fair offering everything from baked goods to vintage finds

  • Caricatures and face painting by Divine Arcana

  • A pickleball tournament hosted by the Belle Plaine Volleyball team

  • Bingo hosted by the Belle Plaine Music Boosters

  • Live music by Late Shift

  • A competitive Rolle Bolle tournament

  • $1 swim day at the Belle Plaine Pool

  • A spirited Tug of War tournament by the Belle Plaine Softball Team

  • Kiddie Tractor Pulls by the Belle Plaine FFA

  • Cow Chip Bingo from the Belle Plaine Fire Department

  • A wide variety of raffle prizes from local businesses and individuals

  • A dazzling fireworks display to close the night

Food and refreshments were plentiful with concessions from the Athletic Boosters (pulled pork, steak sandwiches, watermelon slices, and more), American Legion’s funnel cakes and snow cones, and of course, the Lions Club beer tent.
